Pre-Diwali Energy Reset for Your Home — Invite Maa Lakshmi’s Blessings This Year
The Festival of Light and Energy
Diwali isn’t just about decorating your home — it’s about resetting the energy that flows through it. According to Dr Yogesh Sharma, unless the space you live in is purified and vibrates with positive frequency, even your best rituals, mantras, or Lakshmi Pujan may not yield full results.
So, this pre-Diwali period is the perfect time to energize your surroundings. Think of it as a spiritual “refresh button” for your home.
Step 1: Purify and Energize the Main Entrance
Your main door is the gateway through which prosperity enters your home.
Cleanliness first: Ensure the door and threshold are spotless.
Decorate mindfully: Hang a toran of mango leaves or marigolds.
Draw symbols: Mix rice + sindoor and create an auspicious Om symbol.
Apply a golden Swastik for divine protection.
Place Lakshmi footprints (चरण): Either handmade or ready-made stickers on both entry gates if you have two.
Keep light on: Ensure the main door stays well-lit all night on Diwali — light attracts energy.
💡 Tip: Do not keep the main gate open overnight for security reasons. A steady light is enough to invite positive energy.
Step 2: Activate the North-East (Ishan Kone) :The Divine Corner
In Vaastu, the North-East is the zone of purity, thought, and divine flow — the entry point of spiritual and financial energy.
Declutter the area: Keep this zone light and clean.
Place a Dakshinavarti Shankh: Fill it with whole rice and a silver coin; keep it in the North-East.
Light two diyas daily (from two days before Diwali till Diwali night) using cow ghee with cloves inside.
This simple act purifies vibrations and attracts blessings from both Maa Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati — symbolizing wealth and wisdom together.
Step 3: Purify the Kitchen :Seat of Agni Dev
Your kitchen (Agni Sthaan) determines your family’s wealth flow.
Burn bay leaves (tejpatta) and cloves (laung) in cow-dung cakes or camphor.
Perform this on three days — one day before, on Diwali, and one day after.
Let the smoke fill the kitchen and nearby areas.
This sacred smoke acts like an energetic disinfectant that clears stagnation and opens channels of prosperity.
🔥 The kitchen represents your “cash flow.” Keep it pure and well-lit to ensure abundance never stops.
Step 4: Energize the North Direction :Kuber’s Abode
North direction is ruled by Lord Kuber, the guardian of wealth.
Place a piggy bank (gullak) in the North direction.
Every family member should touch it and add some coins or currency notes on Diwali day.
Keep this gullak safe after Diwali and add a few coins regularly as a gratitude practice.
Also, clean your locker or wealth corner.
Make a paste of rice, turmeric, kumkum, and Ganga jal.
Draw a Swastik on the locker.
Offer prayers to Maa Lakshmi for permanent residence of wealth and prosperity.
When the North direction and locker are activated together, your financial flow stabilizes beautifully.
Step 5: Harmonize the South-West Zone of Stability & Family Bond
The South-West corner brings stability and family unity.
Place a joint family photograph here on Diwali day.
Keep ancestors’ photos (Pitru images) respectfully in this zone.
In a glass bowl, add coarse rock salt (Saindha Namak) and keep it in the South. Replace it every 10–12 days.
Salt absorbs negativity and refreshes the home’s aura, keeping the environment harmonious.
Step 6: Smoke and Sound Energy Cleanse
On Diwali night:
Burn Bhimseni camphor + cloves and circulate its smoke in every corner.
Alongside, ring a bell (ghanti) or blow a conch (shankh) while walking around the home.
This synchrony of sound and aroma instantly uplifts the vibrations and connects your prayers directly to the divine.
Step 7: The Special Diwali Ritual Gratitude and Forgiveness
Beyond material cleansing, emotional cleansing is essential.
Take a paper.
Write three people’s names whom you wish to thank sincerely.
Write three situations that shaped you into who you are today.
Write one name of a person you choose to forgive.
Fold the paper and place it near Maa Lakshmi’s feet during Puja. Later, keep it in your temple or altar.
This act clears karmic blockages and balances emotional energy aligning you with universal abundance.
The True Essence of Diwali
Diwali isn’t about external lights alone; it’s about lighting your inner consciousness and re-harmonizing your living space.
When your home vibrates at the right frequency, your intentions manifest faster, and Maa Lakshmi’s presence becomes permanent.
Perform these steps with faith, gratitude, and consistency and observe how your life transforms in the weeks that follow.
